Everyday use
The app has four sections, one for each tab on the device.
LENS — search a brand, pick your series. The top one is the primary set.
CREW — name the project, add the team with their roles.
NOTES — free space. Shotlists, gear lists, radio channels, anything else.
PATCH — images on the display. Production logos, crew photos, whatever fits the shoot.
Presets
LENS, CREW and NOTES setups can be saved as presets and reused on the next job. Presets live in the app and stay with you across every device you pair — they aren't tied to one M1.
How syncing works
Nothing is sent automatically. The device only changes when you press Send to device.
Two ways it happens:
- You edited offline, then connected. A sync prompt appears.
- You're editing while connected. Press Send to device when you're ready.
How long a sync takes
Most transfers finish in two to five seconds. Text content — lenses, crew, notes — is small and moves quickly.
Patches are the heavy part. A full library of twenty-five takes noticeably longer than a workspace with none. If a sync is taking a while, that's usually why.

Pick any image from your phone gallery and the app handles the rest — converts it to bitmap, sends it over Bluetooth, and adds it to the library on the M1.
The library holds up to 25 patches. The screen is one-bit: every pixel is black or white, with no greys. High-contrast, simple artwork reproduces far better than photographs. Use Invert and the dither options to get a usable result.
Using more than one M1
The app pairs with as many devices as you like, but it connects to one at a time. Several M1s can be discoverable at once; only the connected one receives a sync.
To move between them, open the device you want from Device Manager. If it doesn't connect on its own, press Connect.
Copying a setup to several devices
Useful when you're running more than one M1 on the same job, or setting up a rental fleet.
- On the device that's already set up: Backup. Save the file to your phone.
- Open the next device in the app.
- Restore, and choose the file you saved.
- Press Send to device.
Repeat for each unit. The backup file is just a file — you can keep it, send it to someone else, or reuse it on a future job.

Backups save to your phone's files. Use one to restore a previous state, or to copy a setup as above.
The four ways to clear things
Clean workspace — clears lenses, crew, notes, project name and patches. Presets, custom lenses, device settings and pairing all survive.
Remove device from app — clears this device and its data from the app. Everything stored on the device itself survives.
Factory reset device — clears everything on the device. Nothing survives — you pair again from scratch.
Reset app data — clears all app data, every device. Nothing survives.
Only Clean workspace can be undone: the content is still on the device until you sync, so choosing "use device data" brings it back.
