Getting started
What's in the box
- OFFBIT M1 device
- Velcro loop strips (8 units)
- Welcome card
No USB-C cable. The M1 runs for weeks on a charge and you already own a cable that fits it. Adding another to the box didn't feel like the right call.
Charge it first
Plug the M1 into any USB-C charger or a laptop port.
The device works while charging, so you can set it up at the same time.
Install the app
The OBM-1 app is free on the App Store. It works offline and needs no account.
Android is coming in late 2026.

Set up your first workspace
Every device you pair gets its own workspace: lenses, crew, notes and patches for that specific M1.
Build the setup on your phone, then press Send to device. Nothing transfers until you do — the phone is where you work, and you decide when it becomes what the device shows.
Mount it
The M1 mounts with the supplied Velcro. Common positions:
- On the camera body, on a flat surface.
- On the matte box.
- On the director's monitor or at video village.
Clean and dry the surface before sticking the loop side down. Press firmly for a few seconds — the adhesive reaches full strength after a couple of hours.
Replacement Velcro is available on our site, and standard hook-and-loop from anywhere else works too. See Repairs and spare parts.
